If you are travelling from a hot climate, ensure you carry some additional clothing with you in your hand luggage. The average daily temperature is shown below and it can be very cold and damp during the winter.

For convenience and practicality, you may prefer to buy warmer clothing in the UK once you have settled in. Students often find the following items useful:

• Plug adaptor for your electrical equipment, the UK has 240V and generally uses 3pin square plugs. (that US appliances plugged into UK mains via an adaptor may run faster or more slowly)
