It is situated in a region full of romanticism, mysticism and
legends. With rolling green hills, dramatic landscape of waterfalls
and mountains, miles of stunning unspoilt coastlines and sandy
beaches, North Wales truly is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The scenic beauty in and around Bangor attracts over 10 million
visitors each year. Visitors come to experience the majestic
ambiance of North Wales with its magnificent castles, marine
wildlife such as dolphins and porpoises and endless outdoor
activities.
Indeed, Bangor caters for all- if you are a sporty person, then you
will find yourself spoilt for choice by the range of outdoor
opportunities such as rugby, sailing, rock-climbing, canoeing,
surfing, diving etc. If you prefer shopping, Bangor has one of the
longest high streets in Wales with national chain stores such as
Marks and Spencer’s and small boutique shops too. Some of the best
cities for shopping are also within easy reach- Manchester,
Liverpool and Chester. If you are a night owl, Bangor has a number
of vibrant cafes and pubs- choose from elegant wine bars to
traditional local welsh pubs along the quayside. As Bangor is a city
of learning, you will find a number of students out and about at
night contributing to its lively young atmosphere.
