On Arrival in the UK.
The first few days you will probably feel exhausted if you are travelling across five or more time zones, it will definitely affect your concentration and well being. You may also experience changes in your breathing, pulse rate, eye sight, energy levels digestion and body temperature especially if you are coming from a hot climate.
The effects should only be temporary; a few days at the most, so do not be too worried by the symptoms. The advice usually given is to:
Avoid drinks that contain caffeine, such as Coffee, Tea, Chocolate and some soft drinks.
Limit or avoid Alcoholic drinks
Drink plenty of water
Keep active during the day and try to avoid sleeping for short periods until your body adjusts to the new time zone.
Unfamiliar Culture
Unless you have visited the UK before it may take a little time to adjust to the new experiences, the following should be taken into consideration:
Climate – It might be a lot colder and damper, especially in the winter months than you are used to.
Variety of Food – You may find that British food is strange, in Cafe’s and Restaurants where you will encounter “Fish and Chips”, Roast Lunches”, “Baked Potatoes”. Traditional English Breakfasts” etc.
