For students, this is an important question? Location i.e. City, Rural or Coastline.

You will find excellent English Language Schools, Colleges and Universities offering a full range of courses in different parts of the UK.
English Language Courses in London and other large Cities are usually the most expensive (but there are exceptions).
The cost of living is generally lower in the North and West of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
English Language Schools and Colleges can be divided into two categories, those that are accredited by British Council (more information here) and those that are not.
If an Organisation is accredited it means that it has been inspected and has an agreed set of standards, this is a guarantee of quality.
The price and costs relating to your studying in the UK depend upon the type of Courses, Class Sizes, the number of hours of Teacher contact time, and location of school, Teachers qualifications and experience, the facilities such as IT Equipment and other general facilities.
It is important that you find out what is included in the price of the course, do you have to pay extra for books, examinations, extra lessons, are there extra costs for Lunch, social activities or weekend excursions along with travelling to and from accommodation.

There are literally hundreds of Language Schools, and Colleges, offering many Language and other Courses in the UK.
We advise you to ask your Learning Institution who can also advise on the likely amount of spending money for your daily living costs.
70% of Accredited Organisations are private Language Schools, most being members of ARELS (Association of Recognised English Language Services).
30% are State Colleges and Universities which are members of BASELT (British Association of State English Language Teaching).
A lot of the Courses provided by both Private and State organisations do not vary in cost and content. The difference being Private Organisations offer mainly English Courses for International Students but State Organisations teach many different subjects, mainly to UK Residents and English Language Courses are normally only a small part of their work, they have hundreds and sometime thousands of Students on site. Private Language Schools are normally smaller.Smaller Schools can be more flexible with Courses and dates and can offer specialist Courses at short notice.
State Organisations however, usually have better facilities, Libraries Computer Centres etc.
The busiest time for Private Schools is through the Summer, whilst State Organisations have an Academic year from September to June.
