There are courses to suit every Student regardless of age or level of English. Some will help with your ability for general English; others offer special Language skills for Studies or at work.

Courses for children and young teenagers normally take place in the Summer Holidays and only last a few weeks.
These courses usually involve sports, excursions and a busy social programme; some stay in residential accommodation others with host families in a nearby location.
There is a growing number of children and teenagers who study in the UK all year round, these usually take place at Private Boarding Schools with Students sharing, studying and living together combining English lessons with a wide range of other subjects, preparing the Student to move on to Further Education in the UK.
General English Courses are the most popular for the Student to help develop their general knowledge and grammar, vocabulary pronunciation of English and the ability to speak, listen read and write.
At many private and some State Schools it is possible to join a general English course at any time of the year and stay for weeks or months as required.
Most full time English courses include 15 - 25 hours per week, plus private study if required. You can study on a one to one basis with your own teacher if required.

It is important that you find out what is included in the price of the course, do you have to pay extra for books, examinations, extra lessons.
There are many different names for the courses you may require for example:
• Exam Preparation Course
• English for Business
• Communication Course
• Academic Year Course
• Super Intensive Course

It is very important that you read the English Language School, College, or University Information carefully because a single name can mean different things to different Organisations.

One School for example can have a preparation course which could be solely devoted to examination practice, while another, a general English course with extra lessons to prepare for the examination.
Both environments are effective - the right one depends upon the individual.
All Schools and Colleges give the Student the opportunity to prepare for an Internationally recognised English Examination.
These courses often have an entry test and fixed dates, check whether the exam fee is included in the cost of the Course.
